ENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: Reporting structure: Workshop Foreman or any other person assigned DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • A diesel mechanic apprentice is responsible for assisting experienced diesel mechanics in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, heavy machinery, and vehicles. • The apprentice will undergo on-the-job training • Gain practical experience in various aspects of diesel engine maintenance and repair. • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing oil, lubricating parts, and replacing filters • Learn to use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify problems and troubleshoot issues with diesel engines. • Assist in replacing or repairing defective parts and components, such as brakes, transmissions, engines, and fuel systems. • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and hours worked on each task. • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. • Familiarize oneself with environmental and safety regulations related to diesel engines and hazardous materials handling. • Become proficient in the use and care of tools and equipment commonly used in diesel engine repair. • Attend training sessions and educational programs as required to gain the necessary knowledge and skills. • Interact with customers or vehicle operators when necessary to gather information about issues or to explain work performed. • Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures including Health and Saf
