Description Standard Bank of South Africa is recruiting candidates for its Communities of Expertise & SA Legal Graduate Programme, commencing in February 2027. The 18-month programme provides practical exposure to the Legal function within a major financial institution. Participants will gain insight into the organisation, its products and the markets in which it operates while contributing to legal work, financial-resource governance, risk management, controls and business advisory activities. Job Ref ID: 80434130A-0002 Responsibilities • Participate in Standard Bank's Legal Graduate Programme. • Gain practical exposure to the Legal function within the organisation. • Work collaboratively with legal and business teams. • Support the assessment of business opportunities and risks. • Collate and analyse information from different sources. • Assist with the planning and coordination of instructions. • Apply commercial drafting skills where required. • Contribute to problem-solving and considered decision-making. • Deliver assigned work accurately and within required timelines. • Develop an understanding of banking, finance and financial markets. • Work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues. Requirements Essential • South African citizen. • Must not be older than 30 years. • Must be admitted as an attorney in South Africa. • No more than 2 years of work experience post-admission. • Minimum average of 65% across all years of study. • Good commercial drafting
