About the role The Public Affairs Intern will support public outreach and stakeholder engagement for a major transmission upgrade project. This role involves acting as a liaison between the project and the community, while assisting with communication efforts for infrastructure projects across the New York and Northeast region. This is a paid, full-time position for the Fall 2026 semester. What you'll do • Serve as an on-the-ground liaison between the project and the community. • Manage and track a stakeholder and public input database, including running analytics and reports to inform outreach strategies. • Draft and support content development for the project social media channels. • Monitor and archive media coverage related to project issues. • Coordinate and support public meetings and community events with neighborhood groups and stakeholders. • Support the implementation of strategic messages to educate the community on project needs, benefits, and impacts. • Analyze the effectiveness of outreach campaigns, including website and social media performance. What you'll need • Active enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate or Graduate program in Political Science, Journalism, Economics, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field. • Demonstrated interest in public affairs, infrastructure, or clean energy. • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and digital tools. • Comp
