About the role The Walk-in Case Management Services Intern supports the Baltimore team in providing essential services to refugees, asylees, and other humanitarian immigrants. This role focuses on helping clients achieve self-sufficiency by navigating local resources and public benefits. Interns work directly with individuals and families under the guidance of the Walk-in Casework Supervisor. What you'll do • Assist clients with activating EBT cards, applying for Social Security cards, and obtaining Maryland identification. • Coordinate transportation for clients to medical and other necessary appointments. • Conduct orientation sessions on financial topics, such as opening bank accounts and using public transportation or grocery store services. • Maintain accurate case documentation and update case files. • Support clients as they navigate walk-in services in person or remotely. What you'll need • Current enrollment or background in Sociology, Psychology, Human Resources, Public Health, Political Science, International Relations, Communications, or Nursing. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Fluency in English. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Prior experience or interest in case management, social work, or working with refugee and immigrant populations is preferred.
